Managing Director

Phil Colaco is a Managing Director and co-founding Partner of McColl Partners.  Mr. Colaco serves as the head of the firm's Financial Services Group.  His transaction experience includes buyside and sellside assignments within the numerous sectors of the financial services and business services industries, including outsourced software, postsecondary education, regional and community banks, and consumer finance companies, among others.  Previously, he was at Bowles Hollowell Conner/First Union Securities.  Mr. Colaco also worked in the investment banking division of Lehman Brothers in New York and as a senior research analyst with Shadwell Partners, a hedge fund investing in financial services companies.  Mr. Colaco is on the Board of Directors of Trinity Episcopal School, the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Central & Western North Carolina, and The University of North Carolina School of Law's Center for Banking and Finance.  

Education 

Mr. Colaco received a bachelor of arts in economics from The University of Virginia and a master of business administration degree with concentrations in finance and accounting from The Graduate School of Business at The University of Chicago, where he graduated with highest honors and was a member of Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society.
