CHARLOTTE, NC (MARCH 2008) - McColl Partners, LLC has completed six engagements in 2008, including four closed M&A transactions worth approximately $400 million and two strategic advisory assignments. The firm focuses its efforts across four industry groups, including Business and Financial Services, Consumer and Retail, Healthcare, and Industrials and Building Products. This early success in 2008 comes on the heels of a great 2007 where, despite the turmoil in the credit markets, the firm closed deals worth approximately $2.0 billion in aggregate. With a healthy backlog of current engagements, the firm is off to one of its best starts since inception. "We plan to continue expanding our firm in 2008 through several growth initiatives, including expansion of our new office in Dallas and an increased focus on covering private equity groups. We have also seen our core base of private and middle-market clients remain very interested in raising capital and pursuing liquidity, due largely to the uncertainty of capital gains tax treatment in the near future along with the continued attractiveness of the middle-market arena," stated Dave Vorhoff, Managing Director of McColl Partners.
The firm recently announced two promotions, and named one new partner to the firm. Brian Rosenthal was promoted to Vice President, working primarily in the firm's Private Capital Group. Brad Winer, a partner with the firm, was promoted to Managing Director. Mr. Winer leads transactions within the firm's Industrials and Building Products Group. Brian Davis, a Director, was named a partner of the firm. Mr. Davis manages the firm's business development efforts and also serves as the co-head of McColl Partners' Private Equity Coverage Group. The firm is also adding three new full-time Associates and seven new Financial Analysts this summer.
